चीनी कम - Sugar Free Romance
An unconventional story of a 64 year old wanting to marry 34 year old with objections only from the would be father-in-law who is 6 years younger to the groom.
The presentation of the story is too good. Actors Big B and Tabu are awesome too, actually both rock – that’s how JD would put. Big B, so effortlessly, hesitates just like a young boy fallen in love and the very next moment is a stern, arrogant man. He is simply WOW. There is an interesting part of the story. After some good half hour the characters actually ask each others name and thats when I also realised that the names were never known.
There are few other characters whom I fell in love with – the long toothed waiter fondly called Colgate and the talks about his lady love – Maya. The adorable Zohra Sehgal who plays his mother. I simply love her since the days of Tandoor Nights which used to be telecast in TV ages back. (I hope my failing memory has got the name of the serial right!) Not to forget the English waiter who spends most of his time trying to get the pronunciation of the dishes right.
And the sweet package is a young gal fighting cancer. She is simply superb and the conversations between her and Big B are the best part of the movie. Comparatively smaller part played by Paresh Raval as the Father in law is also too good. A man whose life is the 3B - Bhajan, Bhojan, and Bhaji (he refers to the cricketer Harbhajan Singh), he claims he is a Gandhian but cannot live without Non Veg and liquor and eventually agrees to the wedding if only his daughter would stay non veg.
Towards the end, the story losses its shine though - the exaggerated - melodramatic scene of Big B trying to convince his Father in law – avoidable or they could have retained the sugar less flavor. But still a feel good film worth watching.

it was indeed one of my fav movie... very well executed.. and that small gal had done and excellent job too.
Good you too liked the movie, I do agree the little gal actually stole the prize. She did an amazing job.
