Moments...

It's an awesome must read book. There is a movie too. And I am not going to play spoilsport. You must read or watch the movie. Some of the memorable lines: A journey may be long or short,  but it must start at the very spot,  one finds oneself One of the biggest mistakes I ever made was when I gave everyone in our family everything that they thought they ever wanted. In trying to make up for all the times I wasn't there, I gave them all material things. In doing so I robbed them of everything that made my life wonderful.  Money is nothing more than a tool , it can be a force for good, a force for evil, or simply be idle. Education is a lifelong journey whose destination expands as you travel. The desire and hunger for education is the key to real learning.

The best seller by Dr. Brian Weiss. Read it like a fiction rather than a work / published report of psychiatry. I was told to read it with an open mind. You might discover something. Yes the book teaches us through Catherine's multiple lifes that patience, forgiveness, let go can help you be happy. I find the role of Karma very strange and is rightly attributed as Bitch. Why should someone suffer without recollection of what one did wrong? Why should the suffering be pushed out to a later life where you have not committed anything wrong? Why not finish it off in the same life? An ending - be it happy / sad / grey but end it then and there. And if one believes in reincarnation, then they should carry the learning in the next life and make it a better place. How much better the world will be with the learnings? Time to think!

I am reading this book = Psycho-Cybernetics. (Another story why I choose such an complex book) It talks about an interesting difference between animals and Humans Animals have pre-set goals = self preservation and procreation which they achieve by their instincts. Humans on the other hand has Creative Imagination. Something like being a creature who is also a creator. I never thought it that ways. Looking forward to read and add more inputs here. 

Nicholas Sparks has been taking me by storm....after watching and reading his books and movies me just chanced on A Walk To Remember one of the gems....and me watched it cried over it smiled and then cried a little more....so sharing some quotes from there....Spark-le-s :) "Love is like the wind, you can't see it but you can feel it"  "Love is always patient and kind. What a peculiar title but the most adorable book. Its delightfully amazing.  Loved it!!! What if me dont have a job I have loads of work to do ;D Reading this book has been one. I cant write a review of such a masterpiece or else me gonna belittle this amazing book. Must read is all I can say!!! BTW me cant believe its a work of fiction. I actually lived for a while with Elizabeth and her Guernsey friends along with Juliet.

Anyone who has ever been love, got out of love, or even betrayed love must read it. The book has a lyrical sense and just touches the right spots in heart and changes you before you even realize. Paulo Coelho does it again. First I thought I would add quotes from the book but then I suddenly realized I would have to write the complete book here which is not justified. So I leave it here. A must read!

Had to be back....the book was awesome I have like read it over and over....check out the excerpt..... ... Me and chick flick ofcourse me reading them and before you conclude something yeah it sucks big time. I am reading those shopholic ones Sophie Kinsella  :(  Sadly couldn't find anything which is good the writing appears choppy and there is nothing that amuses me :( Its not the first time I read a chick flick I did read Devil wears Prada and watched the movie too which I found better than the book though but I guess that was all. Anyways me wanted to understand why people are crazy and now me feel crazy reading that stuff. I should leave the chick flick and also craziness and concentrate on better reads.

Finally I succumbed to Stephanie Meyer and her series Twilight. I just got a glimpse of the movies showing and then sat there hooked for long watching....and finally decided that she must have written it better than the movie screened (nothing aganist the cast and crew of the movie but I prefer books) So off I go an read the series. Watch this space as I try and unravel the intriguing love story of Bella and Edward. Why did she love him so much so as to agree to convert into a vampire. How can 2 people love each other so much that there is no space for any 3rd to come.

This is a book that I am reading and I am not sorry to say that it sucks. But I am trying to finish it...will post the story when I am done. And finally me done. I am not sure why the author has chosen such convoluted way to narrate the story. Anyways one character in the book is a Shakespeare fan and believes that all answers for the world and life is provided the great bard and his works. Well I suddenly realized its the same with the book. Shakespeare and his works unless translated into normal English and also with description of the characters doesn't make a lay man appreciate his work. Same happens with the book. So if someone could write a synopsis and a character sketch of all the people in the book, maybe I will understand and read it. In a word Avoid.

A strange name for a novel well I still couldn't understand the rationale fir such a name. Its a story about 3 couples obviously in love but sometimes obsession and jealously makes them do such things as to question their loved one. Couple 1 - A long time friendship appears to culminate into matrimony but just at the moment they decide to be jealous and hurt each other. But when they separate, pause and rethink they realize that they are made for each other.   Couple 2 - Again here job insecurity and job responsibility breaks them apart. Either they see each other less and less but all the time wanting more and more. And then the pressure breaks on them, they decide to move away. But once apart they realize the importance of each other and reunite. Couple 3 - Soul mates but once they accidentally lose child they drift apart. But convinced that the drifting would do them good. They decide to stay that way for a time till both rebuild themselves and they can start afresh their ...

Just finished Mother's Hope and Other Side of Paradise Mother's Hope - wonderful book story about a teenage gal giving birth to a baby and how desperate she is to save it. An Albino individual trying to make place in this world. Other Side of paradise - story centered around the japs capture of Singapore and how the Britisher and others staying there were entrapped in that. Unlikely love story it again says that waiting for the one you love helps.

Just finished this book....The story revolves around an unlikely wedding - its preparation and the wedding day. The story is in the form of narration by the 3 characters - the bride, the grooms mother, and the bride's mom's friend. Delves into the psyche of love,  and marriage and the 3 ladies each from a different generation share same ideologies. Good read.

This book by Susan Lewis would have been excellent in case she had edited and removed all those pieces which were not required. The story was very touching with how love hurts and balms, forgiveness, betrayal, lies and deceits, guilt.... How the protagonist loves and lives her life for him who rarely returns the love even though he loves her the most. Her life devoted to him and how she felt safe and almost how everything became possible when he was around. Strange has been woven the human emotions and the ups and downs of life. Only if the book was crisply edited it would have proven to be a bestseller.

This book is a nice story narrated again by a gal when she was 13 year old - a summer that she spent at her granddad's place. Although again the writing style is not that great I related to the story well as she shared how she overcomes her Dad's sudden demise and how she has her first crush that nearly crushes her....This is the poem that she speaks out and I really liked it... W.B. Yeats - I have spread my dreams under your feet HAD I the heavens’ embroidered cloths, Enwrought with golden and silver light, The blue and the dim and the dark cloths Of night and light and the half light, I would spread the cloths under your feet: But I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet; Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

Now this book was a real good one....a very different story....it was a Biography by Hugh and Colleen Gantzer. This was from a 16 year old boy's narration who is a 4th generation Britisher born and brought up in India. The story starts from 1946 the year before the sun sets on the British empire and shares the teenagers view on what happened. A good one although the writing style is not very  good but still it gives a good perspective.

This book by Anita Shreve is too good. I really liked the way she has gotten into a psyche of an 12 year old as this book is a narration by the about to be teen gal. And not for a moment does the reader ever feel that its not a 12 year old talking. Thats for what I give this book a must read!

Just finished this biography of 2 sisters who got separated in the war torn Burma and met after 66 years of separation. Enjoyed every bit of the book - written simply as if stating facts no sensationalize of events and all...it was just talking about the years that went by in the life of both sisters and how they finally met. If you can lay hands do read. Yes it once again makes me remember that Miracles do happen just believe in it :) Click here to visit the website.

I never really watched nor enjoyed mushy movies....long back I read the book Notebook and I really liked it....actually loved it and when I watched the movie the Notebook, I was enthralled, it was awesome, terrific - I can go on and on about it but that day I felt if love has to happen it has to be like Noah and Allie -  a love that didn't die separation of 14 years....its like they grew without being apart. I am nothing special; just a common man with common thoughts, and I've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten. But in one respect I have succeeded as gloriously as anyone who's ever lived: I've loved another with all my heart and soul; and to me, this has always been enough. The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more, that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds, and that's what you've given me. The Autobiography of Lance Armstrong is truly a moving book. It can easily be treated as a Inspiring and Influencing book. Life's mantra: "Your past forms you whether you like it or not."
