Marcello's Date by Mark David Hatwood

Its the kind of book which keeps you awake and you finish the book in one go. Ina gist the story would sound a teenage love story - rich gal meets poor boy...but its not the usual one... The story revolves around Marcello and his Date. The cascading set of events run and it changes the life around the village. To get the Date he has to buy a gift and to procure the gift he has to swap something else more priceless and so on leading to his own Date. Is he willing to let go his Date for which he is actually doing everything. Will he pay the price for his gift. Will he go ahead with the plan.... Its the same reason that big game fishermen ride out the stormiest seas to win their catch....the same reason that drives across the mountaineers across the most unholy of terrains to reach their summit....and the only reason any self respecting poet should ever do anything - Passion! And the fact that it is only the doing, that we truly define who we really are!

Rehna Tu :)

This song from Delhi 6 had such awesome lyrics... haath thaam chalna ho toh dono ke dayein haath sang kaise haath thaam chalna ho toh dono ke dayein haath sang kaise ek dayain aage hoga ek bayain hoga thaam le haath ye thaam le chalna hai sang thaam le

The last FF which I played reminded of Anais Nin and so here goes some quotes from her: There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.  Don't let one cloud obliterate the whole sky. Love never dies a natural death. It dies because we don't know how to replenish its source. It dies of blindness and errors and betrayals. It dies of illness and wounds; it dies of weariness, of witherings, of tarnishings.  I postpone death by living, by suffering, by error, by risking, by giving, by loving.  We do not grow absolutely, chronologically. We grow sometimes in one dimension, and not in another, unevenly. We grow partially. We are relative. We are mature in one realm, childish in another. Living never wore one out so much as the effort not to live. The dream was always running ahead of me. To catch up, to live for a moment in unison with it, that was the miracle. Age does not protect you from love. But ...

Is raat ki subah nahin

thats the end of Nirmal Pandey....the actor who played the role in the movie Is raat ki subah nahin. I enjoyed the movie the actors and the songs and had taken an immediate liking to this guy and his acting abilities. After that movie I watched him in Bandit Queen and he had a very different role...so it made me a bigger fan of him. And then I think I watched him in some comedy commercial movie where he was hardly used well. Anyways thats was the end. And today I suddenly saw the news that he is gone :( RIP to Nirmal Pandey!!

Wow did my parents have a clue when they named me so...

Your Name is Red Your name tells people that you are powerful and intense. Wow thats cool like that powerful  Your name makes people take you seriously. You stand out in a crowd and command attention. You can't blend in - and you would never try to or want to. I know I always stand apart but this is a nice way to put it command attention :) couldn't have a better word for snobbish People see you as a bit of a wild card. You're well known for being passionate, and you can be a bit dangerous at times. Oh yeah dangerous beware :)  You inspire strong feelings in others. People either totally love you or totally despise you. There usually isn't much in between.  So true there is something in between time which makes their love to despise :) What Color Is Your Name? Thankful for the job I have....

How come suddenly thankful....when over this weekend I had the carpenters working at my place. Those guys spent about a good 5 hours fixing the door and that involved being cooped up in the small bathroom first scrapping the paint and then sticking the PVC sheet. Although he did use the machinery but what to do about the paint dust...his mouth cover also didn't help :( Apart from that the glue that he used to stick was made from some resin and reeked. The smell brought tears in my eye and I was nicely tucked far away in my room with the window open...and what they all got for the labor was a meager 10 Rs for an hour. I gave him a tip of 50 Rs and his face beamed as if he has been showered with blessings :) Then I realized how fortunate I am to be working in this nice office away from all the hardships. Ok so maybe I will be working in this state for a while before I get back to my bickering :) Oh god has someone switched the AC in here...ok folks see ya later.

Friends for life

Sometimes lack of something becomes gain...ok to talk sense... Yesterday morn me went out and while passing by German Bakery thought - oh its been ages since I have been there...The ice tea - its one with mint, lemon, ginger...I should be here...and I thought lemme ask someone to accompany me. I stopped by and picked some Osho Chappals and came home. Back home had a siesta and then couldn't figure out whom to ask to accompany me. I could have easily gone with my office folks but then me didn't. Its not that I don't like them but then me thought office alag and friends alag :) And anyways me had already bought the chappals so just for eating it didn't make that sense. Then me realized I should own a vehicle and then I should be....blah blah it went on and on....finally me went back to my work like the froggie in the well. And late in the night realized whats happened....

Productive Work!!!

Well there are ways by which I can utilize my time and do something productive!! And I don't :( This guy he was sitting and creating a new tool and there was me farming, and fishing :( In fact on second thoughts I was also being productive :) but this kind of productivity won't help me in the long run....wake up!!!

Food for thought!

Finally of me being in Pune for a long time I had Kutchi Dabeli. I did see it my cafe of my previous company and never tried it out for it looked spicy. But this one was good. And then me went to the Amul Ice cream to try some Ice candy and there me thought of trying the Black Currant. Well it was a wrong choice :( Nothing beats our good ole Naturals :) Maybe next weekend me gonna try the strawberry Sundae....its the strawberry season and me have to buy some :)

Over-worked

Yup me ran away from the office left all meetings and calls and everything....simply drained off energy to do anything worthwhile and I needed a break and I simply took it..... Not sure whether its right or wrong but me simply did it. Have started a book once I am done maybe will post the review. Weekend is the target to complete it :)

Seasoned Vs Amateurs

Yeah well watching the 2 plays have made me share my 2 cents: The seasoned artists make everything appear so flawless, by looking at them you wouldn't know whose dialogue comes next it was like you are watching a room full of real people living the life of the characters for the moment. The Amateurs you knew who would speak next when a goof up happened it was so easy to spot. When there was a technical glitch the light not falling on the right spot - the seasoned actor just walked towards the limelight as if it was what he was supposed to but when it came to the amateurs they didn't know wht to do and you get easily spot the technical glitch and their discomfort. I missed the Sunday's play :( It again had Rajit Kapur....but never mind....me might get a chance once again. Now that the plays are going to happen in the afternoons :) I can watch them.

Play-ed

I extracted time out of my facebook farming, running the cafe and fishing to watch some plays. Well it was just 1 but soon become two When it rains it pours or whatever the phrase is…. First play – the first one to happen on a weekend afternoon…and so got my attendance there The second some of my colleagues were there and so me got a drop back and it was just opposite to my place and of course it had Rajit Kapur :D Arre our own Byomkesh Bakshi Ok now I am going to write the review and of course I don’t care if you don't want to hear me out but before I do that I am gonna cross this out off my 101 list coz me didn’t watch 1 but 2 Here I go – First Evam productions an adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s Five Point Someone – well when I bought the tickets I had no clue what was in store for me I didn’t even check if it was Hindi or English – I was focused watch a play and got a chance for one that was happening Sat afternoon.  But the play was good even though the Auditorium was p...

Brake-d

Have you ever walked directly into a standing car....its not that easy as it sounds....you have to prepare for that: Take a deep breath, fill your mind with thoughts....go deeper and deeper into the meditative mode that you forget you are walking in the road - you should be deep in thought. The test for this is you cannot do the test described here. But still let me describe it - You should not feel any object which is like an inch away from ur face, you should stop when you actually hit the object - it can be a human or even a car. So I did just that an bumped into one standing at the parking lot. Don't ask me how I reached the parking lot from the footpath...meditative mode - don't worry me not a jay walker so car users may not beware....I did this in my society car park :) Well its actually not my fault the car has brakes and me don't and the car driver should have the theft alarm enabled....which he didn't. See!!
