New Moon

Yup tomorrow is goona be a new moon. And I quote an explanation.... New Moon is the beginning of the cycle, when the Moon is between, though not necessarily eclipsing, Sun and Earth. The New Moon rises and sets with the Sun, but it cannot be seen because the Sun is shining on the half pointed away from the Earth.

Armchair Intellectuals

Wow me love this term. So from now on my conversations would be sprinkled with this term - A pilot flies the plane but never designs it. Right. So please dont question the credibility of the armchair intellectuals. They are the designers, creators, ..... Join the club of talkers and leave the moving and shaking for the rest!!!

Some folklore

Married in January's hoar and rime, Widowed you'll be before your prime; Married in February's sleepy weather, Life you'll tread in tune together; Married when March winds shrill and roar, Your home will lie on a distant shore; Married 'neath April's changeful skies, A chequered path before you lies; Married when bees o'er May blossoms flit, Strangers around your board will sit; Married in the month of Roses - June, Life will be one long honeymoon; Married in July, with flowers ablaze, Bitter-sweet mem'ries in after-days; Married in Augusts' heat and drowse, Lover and friend in your chosen spouse; Married in September's golden glow, Smooth and serene your life will go; Married when leaves in October thin, Toil and hardship for you begin; Married in veils of November mist, Fortune your wedding ring has kissed; Married in days of December cheer, Love's star shines brighter from year to year. Just read this....

Mary Magdalene and the priceless perfume ~ Osho Transformation Tarot Society goes on telling you, "This is right, and that is wrong"--that is conscience. It becomes ingrained, implanted in you. You go on repeating it. That is worthless; that is not the real thing. The real thing is your own consciousness. It carries no ready-made answers about what is wrong and what is right, no. But immediately, in what-ever situation arises, it gives you light --you know immediately what to do. Jesus went to visit the home of Mary Magdalene. Mary was deeply in love. She poured very precious perfume on his feet--the whole bottle. It was rare perfume; it could have been sold. Judas immediately objected. He said, "You should prohibit people from doing such nonsense. The whole thing is wasted, and there are people who are poor and who don't have anything to eat. We could have distributed the money to poor people." What did Jesus say? He said, "You don...

Image
City of Pune is hosting the Common Wealth Games between 12- 18 th Oct. As usual this is not why I am writing this post. The city doesn't need applause for hosting games but it certainly needs for starting the first open library. For those wanting to know whats an open library read " The concept of the Open Library " Now for the location of the library - @ a Township - "The same one - Rs 4,000- crore township that farmers built". Can you guess? Yup its at Magarpatta . For those who are keen to know more about Magarpatta , read from here . Now back to library, before that have a sneak preview of the library with the volunteers in action. (If the image doesnt load, click the placeholder to view!) Read more about the library from here . Happy Sharing and Happy Reading to all!!

The Tale of Fairy Tales

I happened to lay my hands on this book – The Ice Queen by Alice Hoffman . The book writes about the differing styles between the fairy tales by Grimm and Anderson. The critics of the book also say it as a modern day fairy tale. I really was curious to find out more about the term “fairy tale”, its origins and what makes it so enduring. Let me confess, although the fairy tales are intended for children, I as an adult am equally enthralled and entertained by them. I continue to savor them in any form – oral, written, movie, or theatre. Just the word “fairy tale” transports me to a magical imaginary world. An enchanting and wonderful place where lives prince and princess, elves, hobgoblins, dragons, fairies, and other mystical and magical creatures. The wonder tales about these marvelous and magical things at combat, adventure, and romance - A child becoming a goat, A princess sleeping for a hundred years, Enchanted objects like the mirror-on-the-wall talking, A genie residing within a l...

"Whom God has forgotten"

This article talks about a woman...whom God has forgotten and is bestowed with the worst curse of all: to be unable to live, and to be unable to die...suffering every minute... This reminded me of the days when I had helplessly watched patients writhe in pain. The only thing that came to my mind at that time was that I should never suffer. (Yup it has to me about me;)...) I should take good care of myself so that I don't end up suffering like any of those. Some agnostic beliefs I have ;)

The Manthan Award also achieves the purpose of all horizontal as it invites nominations from sectors like e-governance, e-learning, e-education, e-business, e-culture, e-science, e-entertainment, e-health, and e-Inclusion & Livelihood. Because of the popularity and large scale accept...
