I am too like most of my counterparts a Lone writer….and often nicknamed as One Woman Army. My day begins by calling up the Subject Matter Experts - Developers, Technical Architects, Project Managers…to request them to provide content or review. It’s pretty frustrating to hear the negative responses and await the Technical Review round from all these SMEs . Nevertheless, I still enjoy my work. It’s like gardening work. Gardening and Technical Writing, you wondering what’s the similarity…Well here’s how… Like the Gardener, the Technical Writer is provided with a seed ≈ the topic / purpose of creating the document along with the reference materials ≈ the mud, water, and the location. Begins the gardening activity - Prepare the Ground ≈ pick up the shovel and start digging for content from various locations and people.
