The ultimate gift

It's an awesome must read book. There is a movie too. And I am not going to play spoilsport. You must read or watch the movie. Some of the memorable lines: A journey may be long or short,  but it must start at the very spot,  one finds oneself One of the biggest mistakes I ever made was when I gave everyone in our family everything that they thought they ever wanted. In trying to make up for all the times I wasn't there, I gave them all material things. In doing so I robbed them of everything that made my life wonderful.  Money is nothing more than a tool , it can be a force for good, a force for evil, or simply be idle. Education is a lifelong journey whose destination expands as you travel. The desire and hunger for education is the key to real learning.

Interesting Read

I am reading this book = Psycho-Cybernetics. (Another story why I choose such an complex book) It talks about an interesting difference between animals and Humans Animals have pre-set goals = self preservation and procreation which they achieve by their instincts. Humans on the other hand has Creative Imagination. Something like being a creature who is also a creator. I never thought it that ways. Looking forward to read and add more inputs here.

The Tiger Roars......

Yeah it does!!! Well I am talking about Sallu Mian and Kats babe starring Ek Tha Tiger. Its actually a love story :) and what a well done one. It has bits and pieces of Sallu's glamourised role as an agent but then even Tom Cruise does :) Kats has finally learnt how to act :) Forget the authenticity of an Agents life or anything about Indo - Pak, lets focus on the presentation of the story. Its a work of fiction. Watch it once for the cinematography of the picturesque places where the movie has been shot. Its spectacular gives you a feel that you are there. Watch it for the dialogues - the romantic liners :) Watch it for the near perfect potrayal by Girish Karnad. Hats off to him. My verdict of a movie is entirely different for most of the times watching a movie without seeing the trailers or reading reviews really helps. And of course watch it with your loved ones :)

Hugo - Come live your dreams!!!

Its an amazing spectacular movie its as if you are flipping through the pages of a mesmerizing tale. Everything has a purpose, even machines. Clocks tell the time, trains take you places. They do what they're meant to do. Maybe that's why broken machines make me so sad, they can't do what they're meant to do. Maybe it's the same with people. If you lose your purpose, it's like you're broken. I'd imagine the whole world was one big machine. Machines never come with any extra parts, you know. They always come with the exact amount they need. So I figured if the entire world was one big machine, I couldn't be an extra part. I had to be here for some reason. And that means you have to be here for some reason too. A must watch!!!

Diwali Dhamaka

Back to back movies :D thats my kind of dhamaka.... Shaitaan - Anurag Kashyap does it again had watched The girl in yellow boots too. Not a movie for the faint hearted (both of them) and like me prepare yourself to go thru reruns of KungFu Panda to calm the mind. Follow Rabbit fence proof - based on a true story didnt get the book so watched the movie....amazing piece yet moving have to watch the reruns of KungFu Panda again Aisha - nice Jane Austen remake....with some sloppy performances but overall likeable and no KungFu panda reruns required :P Especially loved the camera angles....awesome. Watch it for some catchy phrases and cinematography Dil tho bachha hain ji - ok types watch and forget Ra-one - Sharukh has tried to bring Hollywood sci-fi to Bollywood and tried to also add the filmy masala and the cheesy dialogs and acts YUK. How can this be portrayed as a kids movie. Anyways, overall ok movie - loved Arjun Rampal. But felt he was wasted as SRK took all the focus on...

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society - A novel

What a peculiar title but the most adorable book. Its delightfully amazing.  Loved it!!! What if me dont have a job I have loads of work to do ;D Reading this book has been one. I cant write a review of such a masterpiece or else me gonna belittle this amazing book. Must read is all I can say!!! BTW me cant believe its a work of fiction. I actually lived for a while with Elizabeth and her Guernsey friends along with Juliet.

Love Breakup Zindagi.....

Well a good movie I watched after a long time. It simply touched my heart the way the Book Brida did. Strange but me feel one will understand this movie better if they understood the premise of the book. :) Anyways the movie had some sloppy moments but it scaled through the entire thing with its heart-touching script and awesome melodious and rich in lyrics songs. Movie premise - What are we looking for - someone who can complete us :) The unanswered question = "Jisko hain kho jana wo milta hi kyun hain?" But this is the story of some folks who have matured over a period of time and are honest to themselves and so can be honest to others. That's how relationships work. Watch for the scene in which how the protagonists share their un-compatibility with his girl friend. They dont end their relationship but evolve it in a matured manner. Nice touching scene. This movie is dedicated to the people who treat relationships as a game or option. Some one like who chooses ...

By the river piedra I sat down and wept - Paulo Coelho

Anyone who has ever been love, got out of love, or even betrayed love must read it. The book has a lyrical sense and just touches the right spots in heart and changes you before you even realize. Paulo Coelho does it again. First I thought I would add quotes from the book but then I suddenly realized I would have to write the complete book here which is not justified. So I leave it here. A must read!

Brida by Paulo Coehlo

Had to be back....the book was awesome I have like read it over and over....check out the excerpt..... ... She was on the beach with her father, and he asked her to go and see what the temperature of the water was like. She was five years old and glad to be able to help. She went to the edge and dipped in a toe. 'I put my feet in and it's cold,' she told him. Her father picked her up and carried her down to the water again and, without any warning, threw her in. She was shocked at first, but then laughed out loud at the trick he'd played. 'How's the water?' asked her father. 'It's lovely,' she replied. 'Right, from now on, whenever you want to find out about something, plunge straight in.'

Reading chick flick :(

Me and chick flick ofcourse me reading them and before you conclude something yeah it sucks big time. I am reading those shopholic ones Sophie Kinsella  :(  Sadly couldn't find anything which is good the writing appears choppy and there is nothing that amuses me :( Its not the first time I read a chick flick I did read Devil wears Prada and watched the movie too which I found better than the book though but I guess that was all. Anyways me wanted to understand why people are crazy and now me feel crazy reading that stuff. I should leave the chick flick and also craziness and concentrate on better reads.

Aarakshan - Reserved for Big B fans!!!

Yup a real treat for AB fans. Otherwise the movie fails miserably on the story line, dialogue and all other departments. It halfheartedly or should I say takes on a scared-to-venture on the topic of reservation. But AB yeah he is true marvel takes the entire thing on his shoulders. And the gal Deepika Padukone impresses by standing right next to him. The awesome song Acha lagtha hain is so awfully pictured that it loses it complete essence. But Saans Albeli is an awesome song.

Mulan

Ages back me had seen this movie but left it half way through. Dont know how me just got back to it. Mulan -The flower that blooms in adversity is the most rare and beautiful of all. Yes she is one who saves her country by brains and somewhats using beauty :) Anyways the movie had its moments but certainly not a great visual treat. One time watchable. And did I say I love Mushu ....Mwaah...:D and of course Cri Kee how could me forget you. Love ya too :) And as Mushu says Okay, people, people, look alive. Let's go. Come on. Get up. Let's move it. Rise and shine. Y'all way past the beauty sleep thing, trust me.

Stanley ka Dabba VS Chillar Party

The short story - Can the dabba and go for the party The long story, both the movies - touched upon the subject of child labor but just touched. They didn’t take up the issue. - Had very good acting from the children and the adults By the way whats wrong with the makers of Dabba. How can they glorify “lying”. There is a difference between being creative and lying. The boy creates stories of all sorts – that’s ok till he is writing his essays but what he shares with his friends. That’s what we want to teach our future adults. I am not sure. Check out Chillar party – the boy doesn’t need to lie to befriend anyone. Anyways the story was great. The dialogues everything was too good. But I am not sure why somewhere something was amiss and I can’t pin point the same which didn’t make it a movie which you can sit and watch reruns. But certainly a good movie.

Zindagi na milegi doobara - Ought to be a book than a movie

Something that used to classify mainstream commercial movie and art movie was right. We need the classification. You know to earn money you have to create different form of art and to satisfy the creativity you have to do something very different. It wont give you money but will satisfy. Also the audience will be matured and prepared to watch the creativity in that light. Ok this movie is just not any commercial fun male bonding film - its about 3 mortals discovering themselves. Its actually a book and not a movie. And has to be savored in the same way. On second thoughts it ought to be a book to do full justice to the characters. But who will tell this to Madam Zoya that you marketed the film as something and people watching found it something else. They made it terrible for the others sitting in the theater and really appreciating good work. Ok so whats to watch for - Yeah you will hear the Spanish spellbound scenic captured by the lens. Some great acting and spontaneity. Some cl...

Transform--ed

Yes me watched Transformers 3 having not watched any of the earlier. It hardly made any difference. And I enjoyed some parts of it. I was like open mouth seeing the transformation of the cars into the robots wow :) Although the movie was very loooong and boring. But I kept myself busy. Do you know why the character was named SAM. It was UNCLE SAM - when something happens anywhere in the world or beyond world the universe who saves us.....yup!!! :D

Tere bin laden

Awesome movie....hilarious and very well done ;) Must watch!!! and the song Ullu da phatta I dedicate to :)

Shor in the city

A must watch.... Sendthil rocks....and the rest of the characters too.... Although some scenes shook me up but overall the right mixture. Loved the song Saibo....

Tanu Weds Manu

When I had heard the movie name I was like weird name but good songs ....Loved the song Yun Hi BTW I watched the movie because it had Jimmy Shergill and Madhavan (Love both of them) Although hate this gal Kangana she was a spoilsport but then its ok, the story also loses its essence in between but overall good.... Watch it once....why you ask my 2 cents.... When one loves silently, it still gets heard!!

Chalo Dilli

Forget this one... Lara Dutta is at her worst and Vinay Pathak is at his best. The story has some charm initially but fades away only to make the filmy ending. Could have been great one but sadly forget it.

12 Angry Men

Amazing plot and an awesome movie. The entire movie runs just in 1 room. And it shows the 1.5 hours spent by a group of 12 men = Jury. Without giving out names of the people we come to know so many things about each. A football coach, a watch maker, an Ad guy...... Amazing one. Must watch atleast once.
