Can anything be ever written better than this....

“I am so close, I may look distant. So completely mixed with you, I may look separate. So out in the open, I appear hidden. So silent, because I am constantly talking with you.” –  Rumi

Rumi does it again!

A mindfullness retreat or any retreat always has this poetry... The Guest House This being human is a guest house. Every morning a new arrival. A joy, a depression, a meanness, some momentary awareness comes As an unexpected visitor. Welcome and entertain them all! Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows, who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture, still treat each guest honorably. He may be clearing you out for some new delight. The dark thought, the shame, the malice, meet them at the door laughing and invite them in. Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond. — Jalaluddin Rumi, translation by Coleman Barks ( The Essential Rumi )

The uses of sorrow

The Uses of Sorrow | Mary Oliver Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness. It took me years to understand that this, too, was a gift.

Don't Go Far Off - Pablo Neruda

Don't go far off, not even for a day, because -- because -- I don't know how to say it: a day is long and I will be waiting for you, as in an empty station when the trains are parked off somewhere else, asleep. Don't leave me, even for an hour, because then the little drops of anguish will all run together, the smoke that roams looking for a home will drift into me, choking my lost heart. Oh, may your silhouette never dissolve on the beach; may your eyelids never flutter into the empty distance. Don't leave me for a second, my dearest, because in that moment you'll have gone so far I'll wander mazily over all the earth, asking, Will you come back? Will you leave me here, dying?

Pablo Neruda - My new love

“I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz, or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off. I love you as certain dark things are to be loved, in secret, between the shadow and the soul. I love you as the plant that never blooms but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers; thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance, risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body. I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride; so I love you because I know no other way than this: where I does not exist, nor you, so close that your hand on my chest is my hand, so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep. ”

Evolution

Evolution I walked the burning sands my child in my arms. I thought I was weak, but I was wrong. ~ unknown

The Waking by Theodore Roethke

I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow. I feel my fate in what I cannot fear. I learn by going where I have to go. We think by feeling. What is there to know? I hear my being dance from ear to ear. I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow. Of those so close beside me, which are you? God bless the Ground! I shall walk softly there, And learn by going where I have to go. Light takes the Tree; but who can tell us how? The lowly worm climbs up a winding stair; I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow. Great Nature has another thing to do To you and me; so take the lively air, And, lovely, learn by going where to go. This shaking keeps me steady. I should know. What falls away is always. And is near. I wake to sleep, and take my waking slow. I learn by going where I have to go.

Invictus - Awesome movie and the awesome poem

Out of the night that covers me, Black as the Pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be For my unconquerable soul. In the fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud. Under the bludgeonings of chance My head is bloody, but unbowed. Beyond this place of wrath and tears Looms but the Horror of the shade, And yet the menace of the years Finds, and shall find, me unafraid. It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishments the scroll. I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul. William Ernest Henley

I'm on my way....Jason Michael Carroll (Song Hurry Home)

Only a dad / parent can do this :) They can forgive us for everything and anything. Miss you dada!!!  Loved this song and especially this lyric.  It doesn't matter what you've done, I still love you It doesn't matter where you've been, you can still come home And honey if it's you, we've got a lot of making up to do And I can't hug you on the phone, so hurry home - Jason Michael Carroll (Song Hurry Home)

The Rainy Day ~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

The day is cold, and dark, and dreary; It rains, and the wind is never weary; The vine still clings to the moldering wall, But at every gust the dead leaves fall, And the day is dark and dreary. My life is cold, and dark, and dreary; It rains, and the wind is never weary; My thoughts still cling to the moldering Past, But the hopes of youth fall thick in the blast And the days are dark and dreary. Be still, sad heart! and cease repining; Behind the clouds is the sun still shining; Thy fate is the common fate of all, Into each life some rain must fall, Some days must be dark and dreary.

The Life of Love Khalil Gibran

These are works of Khalil Gibran and yes no one can be as good as him...I just thought his Prophet was good till I chanced upon his other collections....there will be more coming here :)   The Life of Love Spring Come, my beloved; let us walk amidst the knolls, For the snow is water, and Life is alive from its Slumber and is roaming the hills and valleys. Let us follow the footprints of Spring into the Distant fields, and mount the hilltops to draw Inspiration high above the cool green plains. Dawn of Spring has unfolded her winter-kept garment And placed it on the peach and citrus trees; and They appear as brides in the ceremonial custom of the Night of Kedre. The sprigs of grapevine embrace each other like Sweethearts, and the brooks burst out in dance Between the rocks, repeating the song of joy; And the flowers bud suddenly from the heart of Nature, like foam from the rich heart of the sea. Come, my beloved; let us drink the last of W...

Blessings....(James Dillet Freeman)

May you need one another, but not out of weakness. May you want one another, but not out of lack. May you entice one another, but not compel one another. May you embrace one another, but not out encircle one another. May you succeed in all important ways with one another, and not fail in the little graces. May you look for things to praise, often say, "I love you!" and take no notice of small faults. If you have quarrels that push you apart, may both of you hope to have good sense enough to take the first step back. May you enter into the mystery which is the awareness of one another's presence - no more physical than spiritual, warm and near when you are side by side, and warm and near when you are in separate rooms or even distant cities. May you have happiness, and may you find it making one another happy. May you have love, and may you find it loving one another!

Another Try by Josh Turner

There's no changing things that we regret. The best that we can hope for is one more chance. If the hands of time could just move in reverse. I wouldn't make the same mistake again....

Collection

A collection of some shers that I chanced upon they are written by others and I am just adding them to my collection here.  They may not be excellent pieces of poetry but they did touch upon me. I will add as and me chance upon any new one. I especially liked the last 2 lines.... jab bhi tanhayee se ghabra ke simat jaate hein hum teri yaad ke daman se lipat jate hein un pe toofan ko bhi afsoos hoa karta hei vo safeene jo  kinaaron pe ulat jaate hein Yaad karte hai tumhe tanhai mein , dil dooba hai gamo ki garai mein, hume mat dhundna duniya ki bheed mein, hum milenge tumhe tumhari parchaai mein. Chale aao tum! ke hum yaad karte hain, Yeh woh gunaah hai jo hum baar-baar karte hain, Jala ke dil me hasraton ke chirag, Aapke aane ka intezaar karte hain. Dur na jaaya karo dil tadap jaata hai, Tere hi khayalon me din guzar jaata hai, Aaj puchha hai dil ne ek sawal tumse, Kya dur rehker tumko bhi hamara khayal ata hai. ...

Time For Miracles

"It's late at night and I can't sleep. Missing you just runs too deep. Oh I can't breathe, thinking of your smile. Every kiss I can't forget, this aching heart ain't broken yet. Oh God I wish I could make you see Cause I know this flame isn't dying So nothing can stop me from trying Baby you know that Maybe it's time for miracles Cause I ain't giving up on love You know that maybe it's time for miracles Cause I ain't giving up on love No I ain't giving up on us"  - Adam Lambert

"Love finds a way."

"While I sit And stare at the moon While I sit Just thinking of you As I stare At the beautiful stars As I stare Wondering just how you are While I wonder As I stare and I sit I know I'll see Your face again" - Dizzy
